Praveen Sengar
Manager, Software and Services Research, IDC (India) Ltd.
Praveen Sengar heads the Software and Services market research at IDC India and manages the business and operations of the software and services research group. He is responsible for market analysis research and identifying opportunities across the Packaged Software market. He handles the Packaged Software market tracker and customized research for IDC in India.
Praveen has worked with organizations such as Lowe Lintas in brand management and Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals in marketing.
Praveen graduated from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University with a Master’s Degree in International Business (specializing in International Marketing). |

Simon Dale
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, SAP Asia/Pacific
Simon Dale is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of SAP Asia Pacific, responsible for driving strategy and regional business development activities for the delivery of the enterprise service oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) , delivered on SAP's application and integration platform, SAP NetWeaver. Based in Singapore, at the SAP Asia Pacific headquarters, Simon is a member of SAP's Asia Pacific
leadership team and brings with him over 18 years of computer software experience to his role.
Prior to SAP, Simon had worked at TopTier Software for three years before it was acquired by SAP, where he was Senior Director Worldwide Pre-Sales.
He was responsible for the quality, content and procedures of the technical presentations and demonstrations of TopTier Software's Portal products and technology carried out by sales engineers in both Europe and North America. Simon also has extensive experience of European pre-sales for the CASE tool providers, Dynasty Technologies and SEER Technologies, prior to which he developed client/server and mainframe systems at major UK Blue Chip companies Guardian Royal Exchange, GEC and Goodyear Tyres.
Simon holds a BSc in Computing Science from Staffordshire University, UK, and his interests include Golf, Travel, and participating in sprint triathlons. |

Mihir Saraf
Solutions Specialist, Microsoft India
Mihir has been working with Microsoft for the last 1 year as a Solution Specialist for Applications Platform. He has a degree in Computer Engineering and a Diploma in Advanced Computing from CDAC. He has 10 years of experience in IT with over 4 years in the field of Enterprise Application Integration. Primarily a technology specialist, his involvement in SOA and EAI has been since 2002 and has played various roles in the field of adapter development, BPEL4WS developer and an ESB architect. An avid contributor to the topic of EAI he has written a number of white papers like: “EAI Sales FAQ’s”, “Messaging”, “RFID Integration” etc. |

Dr Umesh Bellur
Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Bombay
Dr. Bellur's current responsiblities and achievements (past 4 years) include putting together a graduate academic program in distributed enterprise computing that includes coursework, labs and research projects. He also started and is the chief PI of a research program in autonomic enterprise computing called LAMDA (Lights out, Automated Managements of Distributed Applications).
This has several subprojects such as automated topology detection of enterprise application environments, automated capacity planning of enterprise applications using stochastic methods, autonomic self configuration and self healing in such environments. These projects are funded by industry giants such as Intel and IBM.
Dr. Bellur's past job experience includes being Member, Founding Team and VP of R&D of Collation Inc.where he helped raise the first round of US$ 6 M funding in 2002-03 and release it's first product in the space of managing enterprise application environments. Collation was subsequently acquired by IBM.
He has also served as Senior Director and then VP of Software Engineering at Covad Communications Inc. where he drove a team of over 100 software engineers to put together the industry leading J2EE based OSS solution for Covad's broadband service operations.
Prior to that he was Standards Manager, Oracle Corp where he drove Oracle's involvement in OMG and W3C activities and helped ensure standards compliance in Oracle's Web Application Server Product suite.
Dr. Bellur was also Senior Architect, TCSI Corp. where he architected the first commercial implementation of CORBA with all the relevant services.
Dr. Bellur is also a contributing member to the JSR 160 team that developed remote JMX standards. He was awarded US Patents and is the author of over 15 technical papers and book chapters in the area of distributed object systems.
